Web Solutions Team Going Virtual!

The field of technology offers a number of benefits to I.T. Service Providers, and one of these key benefits is the Virtualization of the Workforce. Virtualization is the replacement of a physical office with a collection of collaborative technologies that allows teams to work seamlessly from home and remote offices, on the road while travelling, and other remote locations. With the availability of secure remote access, web-based project management and online team collaboration, virtualization allows both employers and employees to experience a higher level of efficiency and transparency while maintaining and, even at times, boosting the productivity of the team.

Our Web Solutions Team is taking this route and we're very excited about it! On the 2nd of June 2008, our web operations will be completely virtualized. There are great advantages of the company going virtual, and some of these advantages are outlined below:

  • The reduction of overhead costs which, by extension, lowers costs to our clients
  • The increase of productivity coupled with good management
  • The reduction of our environmental footprint, promoting the concept of “Going Green” in Grenada
  • The ability for team members to work from any location that has an Internet connection

We’ve put together and answered a few questions that may arise as a result of the Web Solutions Team’s move to a virtual environment:

  • Will you be as available to us as you were with a physical presence?
    Yes. With Customer Service as our number one priority, we understand that being available to our clients is a critical factor in providing a world class service. We plan to maintain and even increase our availability with a Voice Over IP network that integrates our land lines and mobile phones into one seamless voice network.

  • What about the Network Operations Center, Computer Repairs Department and Reception?
    These departments, along with our receptionist will still maintain a physical presence. It will continue to be the hub of all communications and operations of the company. A physical presence is still required in order to have a secure place to house our servers, receive walk-in customers and have a workshop for repairs.

  • Where will you have meetings and conduct training sessions for web design/development clients?
    Most of our meetings and training sessions are arranged to be conducted at clients’ locations. However, there will be a conference room available to hold meetings and training sessions if the need arises.

  • How do you plan on maintaining productivity within the Web Solutions Team?
    Productivity is a legitimate concern for clients and as such, we have done extensive research into this form of technology to ensure that we address the key concerns surrounding productivity. These include adhering to deadlines, maintaining a high quality of service, and making the collaboration between the team and with our clients easy.
